One of Ireland’s leading Mechanical & Electrical contractors is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join their growing Dublin based operations team. This contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering complex building services and mission critical projects across the Data Centre, Commercial, Industrial and Pharmaceutical sectors.

The Role – Senior Electrical Project Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to take ownership of electrical engineering coordination and project delivery across major construction projects in Dublin and surrounding areas.

You will play a key role in managing electrical design coordination, subcontractor activities, commissioning and quality assurance while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest technical standards.

Working closely with project managers, consultants, subcontractors and client teams, you will support the full project lifecycle from design review through to testing, commissioning and final handover.

This role will suit an ambitious Electrical Engineer with strong technical knowledge, building services experience and a background delivering large scale construction or mission critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and technical reviews to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
• Review drawings, schedules and technical documentation to ensure quality and programme requirements are achieved
• Coordinate electrical engineering activities across live construction projects
• Develop engineering solutions, calculations and technical submissions for client approval
• Manage RFIs and ensure all design coordination issues are resolved efficiently
• Support project delivery teams with technical guidance throughout construction and commissioning phases
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and specialist commissioning activities
• Review supplier packages and ensure compliance with project specifications and design intent
• Support procurement planning to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
• Monitor quality standards, BCAR requirements and project compliance documentation
• Prepare O&M manuals, handover documentation and testing packs
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development within the project team
• Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants and internal project stakeholders

About You

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or Electrical Services Engineering
• 5 years’ experience within Electrical Engineering or Building Services project delivery
• Strong background in Data Centre, Commercial, Industrial or Pharmaceutical construction projects
• Excellent understanding of electrical systems, fire alarm systems and emergency lighting standards in Ireland
• Strong technical coordination and project engineering experience
• Experience working with AutoCAD, Navisworks and construction management software
• Strong understanding of commissioning, QA/QC and project handover procedures
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and project deadlines
• Strong stakeholder management and client facing experience
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical project teams is highly desirable
