You are an experienced and technically strong Senior Electrical Engineer looking to take the lead on high-value Energy, Power & Renewables projects. Based on a large-scale EP&R project in Co. Galway, you will play a key role in the design, delivery, commissioning, and handover of complex electrical systems for a major engineering contractor operating across Ireland and Europe.

- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience working as an Electrical Project Engineer within the HV Energy, Power or Renewable sectors.
- Strong experience with high voltage systems, protection studies, and detailed electrical design.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Enjoy working as part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
- Proven ability in interpreting technical specifications, managing project documentation, and overseeing commissioning activities.
- Develop and review schematic drawings, single line diagrams, and detailed electrical designs.
- Produce HV system studies including protection coordination, arc-flash analysis, load flow, voltage regulation and fault level reporting.
- Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for GIS and AIS substations.
- Manage the specification, selection and procurement of equipment and electrical systems.
- Prepare technical specifications, enquiry documentation, method statements and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with clients, design teams and contractors on all technical aspects of the project.
- Manage and resolve technical queries on site, supporting planning, testing, commissioning and final system handover.
- Monitor project progress against schedule and prepare detailed progress reports.
- Oversee document control, ensuring accurate recording and transmission of information.
- Prepare and update project programs using MS Project.
- Support the assembly of bid packages, approval documentation, and construction issue drawings.
- Evaluate design effectiveness, making improvements where required.
- Supervise junior engineers and technicians throughout project development and delivery.
