The Company
Your new company are a well established Irish renewable energy developer delivering utility scale solar, battery storage and grid infrastructure projects across Ireland and Europe. With a strong pipeline of projects from development through to construction and operation, the business has built a reputation for technical excellence, commercial strength and long term investment in sustainable infrastructure.
Headquartered in Dublin, the company works across land acquisition, planning, grid connection, construction and asset management. Due to continued growth and a significant portfolio of live projects, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The Role – Quantity Surveyor
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of large scale renewable energy projects including solar PV farms, battery energy storage systems and associated civil and electrical infrastructure.
You will be responsible for cost planning, procurement, contract administration and financial control from pre construction through to project completion. Working closely with project managers, engineers and external contractors, you will ensure that projects are delivered on budget, in line with programme and to the highest commercial standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage project budgets from feasibility stage through to final account
• Prepare cost plans, BOQs and tender documentation for renewable energy and infrastructure projects
• Lead subcontractor and supplier procurement including tender analysis and negotiations
• Administer contracts including variations, valuations and payment applications
• Monitor project expenditure and provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting
• Identify and manage commercial risks across solar and battery storage developments
• Work closely with engineering and project delivery teams to control costs and drive value engineering
• Support senior management with financial analysis across a portfolio of energy projects
• Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and internal governance requirements
About You
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline
• 4 plus years experience in quantity surveying within construction, civil engineering, utilities or renewable energy
• Experience working on infrastructure, energy, power generation or large scale civil projects is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract and contract administration
• Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise in a fast paced development environment
• Strong reporting and financial analysis skills
• Detail focused with a proactive and solutions driven approach
