Job title: Quantity Surveyor – Leisure & Heritage Development
Location: County Mayo, Co Mayo
Company: Irish Main Contractor
Package: €60,000 to €65,000 + vehicle or vehicle allowance, pension, healthcare and bonus
The Company
This Irish main contractor works across a broad range of sectors including residential, healthcare, education, public sector, tourism and leisure, and commercial construction.
They are currently delivering a leisure and heritage development in County Mayo, with a mix of construction, refurbishment, conservation and detailed finishing works. They are now looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to the commercial team supporting the project.
The Role: Quantity Surveyor
As Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of this leisure and heritage development in County Mayo, working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, site team and subcontractors.
You will be involved across procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and subcontractor accounts, helping maintain strong commercial control as the project progresses.

About You
You will be a Quantity Surveyor with practical experience working on building projects and a good understanding of subcontractor procurement, measurement and cost control.
You should be commercially aware, organised and comfortable working closely with both the commercial and site teams. Experience on refurbishment, heritage or leisure projects would be useful given the nature of the County Mayo development.

- Proven experience required in subcontractor procurement, valuations and cost control
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial reporting
Preferred Experience
- Main contractor experience in Ireland preferred
- Refurbishment, heritage, leisure or commercial building experience beneficial
- Experience dealing with specialist subcontractor packages would be advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Manage subcontractor procurement and commercial administration
- Prepare valuations, variations and monthly cost reports
- Assess subcontractor applications and manage payments
- Monitor project expenditure against budgets and forecasts
- Maintain accurate records of variations and commercial matters
- Assist with subcontractor negotiations and final accounts
- Work closely with the site team to track progress and costs
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout delivery
