The Company
This international engineering contractor delivers complex data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, power, and critical infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe.
With a significant pipeline of major data centre developments secured across Europe, the company continues to expand its planning team and is now seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the successful delivery of a large-scale data centre project in Sweden.
The Role: Project Planner
The Project Planner will play a key role in the successful planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of project activities throughout the full project lifecycle.
Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Commercial Teams, and the Main Contractor, you will develop and maintain detailed project programmes, monitor progress, identify risks, and provide clear reporting to support informed project decision-making.
This role is ideally suited to a Project Planner with experience working on large-scale construction, engineering, M&E, data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Must Have Requirements
You are a detail-oriented Project Planner who enjoys analysing programme performance, identifying risks, and developing solutions to support successful project delivery.
You are comfortable working closely with project management, engineering, commercial, and construction teams while providing clear and accurate planning information throughout the project lifecycle.
You thrive in fast-paced construction environments and have the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Must have 3 years' experience in a Project Planner or Planning Engineer role.
- Experience producing and managing project programmes from design, commercial, and construction information is required.
- Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent planning software is essential.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills are required.
- Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, power, or large-scale construction project experience preferred.
- Experience working with earned value reporting and labour-loaded schedules beneficial.
- Knowledge of M&E project delivery advantageous.
- Experience working with Main Contractors and multidisciplinary project teams preferred.
- Strong trades background coupled with planning experience.
- Experience producing phasing drawings and construction methodologies.
- Exposure to risk management and project controls.
- Experience working on European construction projects.
- Review contract documentation and identify key scheduling, reporting, and programme requirements.
- Develop construction schedules based on project scope, programme milestones, and work breakdown structures.
- Support project teams during client programme negotiations and planning reviews.
- Labour load project schedules using commercial and productivity information.
- Develop project trackers, dashboards, reporting tools, and progress measurement systems.
- Produce fully integrated construction programmes in conjunction with project teams and main contractors.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, and earned value performance throughout project delivery.
- Identify programme risks, delays, and opportunities while developing mitigation strategies.
- Support project teams with planning processes throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Facilitate planning workshops, programme reviews, and look-ahead meetings.
- Develop labour histograms, S-curves, and progress reporting documentation.
- Maintain and update project schedules throughout construction delivery.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce short-term programmes, look-ahead schedules, and recovery programmes where required.
- Support project teams in forecasting labour requirements and project completion dates.
- Provide early warning notifications regarding programme risks and performance issues.
- Assist project management teams in improving project performance and delivery outcomes.
