Job title: Senior Project Manager – Energy Infrastructure

The Company
This specialist civil engineering contractor delivers complex energy and infrastructure projects across Ireland and Europe, with particular experience in battery energy storage, substations, grid connections and associated civil works.
With a growing European project pipeline, they are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to be based from Co Tyrone, taking responsibility for the delivery of a major Energy Infrastructure project in Germany while travelling to site approximately twice per month.
The Role: Senior Project Manager
As Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for programme and project delivery on a major battery energy storage facility in Germany.
Based primarily in Co Tyrone with regular travel to Germany, you will manage the project programme, coordinate site and commercial teams, monitor progress and ensure key construction milestones are achieved.
Strong programme management is central to this position. You will need to be comfortable interrogating programmes, identifying delays and risks early, and working with the project team to keep delivery on track.

About You
You will be an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong civil engineering or energy infrastructure background and a proven ability to manage complex construction programmes.
You should be commercially aware, organised and confident managing teams remotely while maintaining a clear understanding of what is happening on site. The ability to challenge programme dates, identify potential delays and drive actions through to completion will be particularly important.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have proven Senior Project Manager or Project Manager experience within civil engineering, energy or major infrastructure projects
- Strong programme management experience is required, with the ability to review, manage and drive construction programmes
- Must have experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams
- Must be comfortable travelling to Germany approximately twice per month
Preferred Experience
- BESS, substation, grid connection or renewable energy project experience preferred
- Previous experience delivering projects across Ireland, the UK or mainland Europe beneficial
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for programme delivery and key project milestones
- Manage and regularly review the construction programme, identifying risks, delays and required corrective actions
- Coordinate project managers, engineers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Oversee civil works including earthworks, drainage, ducting, foundations, roads and associated infrastructure
- Monitor project progress, quality, health and safety and commercial performance
- Chair project progress meetings and maintain clear reporting to senior management
- Coordinate procurement and ensure materials and subcontract packages align with programme requirements
- Liaise with the client, design teams and other project stakeholders
- Support the delivery of works through construction, commissioning interfaces and handover
