The Company
A specialist Irish engineering contractor delivering water, wastewater and process engineering projects across Ireland. The business works across municipal and industrial infrastructure, delivering treatment, pumping and process solutions for public and private sector clients.
With a strong presence in the Irish water sector and a growing project pipeline, they are looking for a Project Engineer to join their Cork team and support projects across the region.
The Role: Project Engineer
As Project Engineer, you will be involved in the delivery of water, wastewater and process engineering projects from design coordination through construction, commissioning and handover.
Working with the wider engineering and project team, you will coordinate mechanical, electrical and minor civil works, manage subcontractors and suppliers, monitor programme and quality, and ensure works are delivered safely and in line with project requirements.
Must Have Requirements
You will have an engineering background with practical experience in project or site delivery. You should be comfortable coordinating different disciplines, dealing with subcontractors and suppliers and working through technical issues as they arise.
You will be organised, commercially aware and capable of managing your workload against programme requirements. Experience within the Irish water, wastewater, utilities or process engineering sector would be particularly relevant.

Must Have Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Previous Project Engineer, site engineering or project delivery experience required
- Experience or strong exposure to water, wastewater, utilities or industrial process projects
- Good technical understanding of drawings, specifications and engineering documentation
- Full driving licence required
- Water or wastewater treatment project experience preferred
- Mechanical and electrical project coordination experience beneficial
- Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers and client teams
- Exposure to testing, commissioning and project handover
- Support water and wastewater projects from design through to commissioning and handover
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical and minor civil works on site
- Monitor programme, project milestones and progress
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
- Review drawings, technical submittals and project documentation
- Maintain health, safety, environmental and quality standards
- Support procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages
- Assist with cost tracking, variations and project reporting
- Liaise with clients, consultants and project stakeholders
- Support testing, commissioning and final project handover
