The Role – Project Engineer
As Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects from early planning through to commissioning and handover. You will be involved in coordinating mechanical, electrical and minor civil works while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
This role offers a strong balance of site and project coordination work, giving you the opportunity to develop across all aspects of project delivery including programme management, procurement, stakeholder coordination and technical oversight.

As Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects from early planning through to commissioning and handover. You will be involved in coordinating mechanical, electrical and minor civil works while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
This role offers a strong balance of site and project coordination work, giving you the opportunity to develop across all aspects of project delivery including programme management, procurement, stakeholder coordination and technical oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of water and wastewater treatment and pumping projects from design through to commissioning
- Assist with programme planning, scheduling and tracking project progress against key milestones
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to ensure efficient delivery of works
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with health, safety and environmental standards
- Monitor quality on site and ensure works meet specifications and client requirements
- Review drawings, technical submittals and project documentation
- Support procurement activities including materials, plant and subcontract packages
- Track project costs, variations and assist with financial reporting
- Liaise with clients, consultants and stakeholders, providing clear project updates
- Assist with testing, commissioning and final handover of projects
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify risks and support the implementation of mitigation measures
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Experience working as a Project Engineer or strong graduate with relevant site or project exposure
- Background or interest in water, wastewater, utilities or industrial process projects
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- Good technical understanding with the ability to read drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of project costs and procurement
- Proactive, driven and keen to develop within a project delivery role
- Full driving licence
