We are seeking an experienced Project Director to take overall accountability for the successful delivery of a major infrastructure programme based in the Caribbean.

This role demands strong leadership, commercial judgement and technical oversight to ensure complex multi-discipline works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in line with client expectations.

You will lead project planning, resourcing, supply chain engagement, design coordination and stakeholder communication from project mobilisation through to commissioning, handover and operational readiness.

This position reports to senior leadership and has responsibility for all aspects of project performance including financial outcomes, risk management, client engagement and team delivery.

Project Director Skills:
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects with a track record of success
  • At least 8 years in a senior project leadership role (e.g., Senior Project Manager, Project Lead, Construction Manager or equivalent)
  • Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to manage project financial performance, risk and contractual obligations
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience directing multidisciplinary teams including design, procurement, operations and site personnel
  • Solid understanding of design and construction processes, including mechanical, electrical, civils, automation and integrated systems
  • Confidence in engaging with executive stakeholders, clients, partners and supply chain organisations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proficiency in project reporting, forecasting, resource planning and performance tracking
  • Experience operating in international markets and managing multicultural teams is an advantage
  • Full Irish/UK/EU driving licence and ability to travel internationally as required
As a Project Director:
  • Lead strategic delivery of a high-value, Caribbean water/infrastructure programme from inception through commissioning and handover
  • Provide clear direction, leadership and accountability for the project team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client requirements
  • Oversee all aspects of project performance including schedule, procurement, cost control, quality and risk management
  • Maintain ownership for project profit and loss reporting, cashflow forecasting and commercial performance against targets
  • Provide technical oversight of design development and ensure technical solutions are compliant, efficient and fit for purpose
  • Define and implement robust governance, design control, change management and compliance frameworks
  • Oversee appointments of external consultants where required and manage consultant performance relative to design deliverables and timelines
  • Establish and maintain credible, transparent relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners, ensuring communication of the right messages at the right time
  • Drive continuous improvement in project processes, document control and design tracking across project phases
  • Collaborate with pre-construction and commercial teams on early engagement activities, presentations, brief development and constructability reviews
  • Ensure design development outputs such as working drawings, trackers, sign-off documentation and compliance evidence are available when needed
  • Work closely with operations and field teams to ensure constructability, sequencing, commissioning readiness and operational handover
About You – Experience & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering / construction discipline
  • Minimum 15 years’ relevant industry experience with at least 8 years in senior project leadership on technically complex infrastructure programmes
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-discipline design and build contracts and overseeing major project delivery
  • Strong commercial and risk management capability, with P&L ownership on large projects
  • Experience in international project environments or multi-jurisdiction programmes
  • Ability to operate with high autonomy, cultural sensitivity and strong decision-making under pressure
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including client, consultant and supply chain engagement
  • Proficient in project planning, forecasting, reporting, and project control tools
  • Full clean driving licence and eligibility to work internationally
  • Applicants must have full permission to work in Ireland
The Package: Salary will be DOE, but for a role of this scale you can expect a package in the region of €140,000–€180,000 plus expatriate benefits, depending on experience.
