This well-established mechanical contractor has built a strong reputation delivering mechanical services across commercial, industrial and fit-out projects in Dublin and surrounding areas. With a steady pipeline of secured work and long-standing client relationships, they continue to grow their commercial team.

The company is known for its practical, hands-on approach to project delivery and for developing junior staff into well-rounded quantity surveyors. You will be working closely with experienced commercial managers on live projects, gaining exposure across all stages of the project lifecycle.

The Role Junior Quantity Surveyor

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior quantity surveyor with mechanical experience to build their career within a busy mechanical contractor. You will support the commercial team on a range of projects, assisting with cost management, subcontractor packages and financial reporting.

You will gain strong exposure to mechanical services including HVAC, pipework and plant installations, working closely with site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with cost planning and project budgeting
  • Support procurement of mechanical subcontractors and suppliers
  • Measure and value mechanical works on site
  • Assist with preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Monitor project costs and report on variations
  • Work closely with project managers and engineers on site
  • Assist with subcontractor management and payments
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
About You

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • 1–3 years experience in a QS role, ideally with a mechanical contractor
  • Strong understanding of mechanical services such as HVAC, pipework or building services
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
  • Keen to learn and develop within a fast-paced construction environment
  • Motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility
