The Role – Intermediate Mechanical Estimator As an Intermediate Mechanical Estimator, you will play an important role within the company’s preconstruction and commercial team, preparing accurate mechanical building services estimates for a range of construction projects.
Working closely with project managers, engineers and suppliers, you will review tender documentation, analyse project requirements and prepare competitive cost estimates. This role provides strong exposure to mechanical building services projects and offers the opportunity to develop your estimating career within a growing contractor environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed mechanical estimates and cost plans for construction tenders
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Measure and quantify mechanical services packages including HVAC, pipework and plumbing systems
- Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and analyse returned quotations
- Compile accurate and competitive tender submissions
- Identify value engineering opportunities and commercial risks
- Liaise with design, engineering and project delivery teams during the tender process
- Maintain cost databases and estimating records
- Participate in tender review meetings and bid strategy discussions
- Support the handover of successful projects to delivery teams
- Experience working as a Mechanical Estimator, Building Services Estimator or MEP Estimator
- Background in mechanical contracting, building services or construction estimating
- Strong understanding of mechanical services and construction drawings
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and tender documentation
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple tenders
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Motivated to progress within the estimating and commercial side of construction
