The Company
This major Irish main contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering large-scale residential, commercial and mixed-use developments across Dublin and the wider Leinster region.
Known for delivering complex, high-value construction projects, the company has a strong pipeline of work, experienced management teams and a reputation for maintaining high standards of safety, quality and project delivery.
They are currently delivering a major residential development of over 500 apartments in Sandyford, South Dublin, and are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to strengthen their site team.

The Role: Health & Safety Officer
As Health & Safety Officer, you will play an important role in maintaining safety standards on a major 500+ apartment residential development in Sandyford, Co Dublin.
The project involves large-scale apartment construction, underground parking and associated works, offering exposure to a busy construction site with multiple trades and subcontractors operating throughout the programme.
This role will suit somebody with at least 4 years' Health & Safety experience in the Irish construction industry who is confident carrying out site inspections, managing safety documentation and working closely with site management teams.
You will work alongside the Project Manager, Site Manager and subcontractors to ensure construction activities are completed safely and in line with Irish Health & Safety legislation.

Must Have Requirements
• Must have at least 4 years' Health & Safety experience in the Irish construction industry
• Experience working with a main contractor, developer or PSDP required
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification required
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction Health & Safety legislation
• Proven experience carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments

Preferred Experience
• Large-scale residential or apartment construction experience preferred
• Experience working on multi-storey construction projects beneficial
• Experience with RAMS, toolbox talks and Safety Management Systems
• Strong communication and reporting skills

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor Health & Safety standards across the 500+ unit residential development
• Carry out regular site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with Irish Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
• Review RAMS, safety statements and site-specific safety documentation
• Support site inductions, toolbox talks and safety training
• Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are completed
• Maintain accurate inspection records, safety reports and compliance documentation

About You
You will have at least 4 years' experience in a construction Health & Safety role in Ireland, ideally with a main contractor or developer delivering residential or commercial projects.
You will be comfortable working on a busy construction site, communicating directly with subcontractors and site management teams and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
A practical approach is important. You should be confident identifying potential safety issues, communicating them clearly and following through on corrective actions.
