Health & Safety Manager – Data Centre Construction

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take full ownership of environmental, health and safety delivery on a major data centre construction project based in Sweden.

This is a site-based role suited to a safety professional with experience on large, complex construction projects who can lead from the front, embed best practice and ensure full compliance with statutory and project-specific safety requirements. You will work closely with senior project leadership, subcontractors and site teams to drive a proactive safety culture, ensuring all works are carried out safely, compliantly and to the highest standards throughout the construction lifecycle.

Health & Safety Manager Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

• Third level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience managing health & safety on large construction or engineering projects
• Experience working on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or mission-critical projects is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of European and local health & safety legislation and best practice
• Proven ability to manage and implement site-specific safety management systems
• Experience reviewing and approving RAMS, permits to work and safe plans of action
• Strong reporting, auditing and incident investigation skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Confident working independently in a site-based, fast-paced environment
• Strong IT skills with experience maintaining safety reporting systems and records

As a Health & Safety Manager:

• Take overall responsibility for health, safety and environmental compliance on site
• Implement and manage the project safety management system and construction stage safety plans
• Monitor compliance with statutory requirements, project execution plans and internal procedures
• Review and oversee method statements, risk assessments, permits and COSHH documentation
• Carry out regular site audits, inspections and safety walkdowns, ensuring timely close-out of actions
• Track, analyse and report safety performance metrics to senior management
• Coordinate site inductions, safety training and competency records
• Ensure appropriate PPE, safety equipment and welfare facilities are available on site
• Lead or support incident and accident investigations, producing clear reports and corrective actions
• Manage subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site rules and procedures
• Promote continuous improvement and maintain a visible safety leadership presence on site

The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €85,000 plus package
