This established facilities management contractor has a strong reputation for delivering planned and reactive maintenance services across commercial, industrial and specialist building environments throughout the Munster region.

With an expanding client portfolio across Cork, Limerick, Waterford and surrounding counties, they are known for reliable service delivery, strong technical standards and a practical approach to maintaining critical building services systems.

The Role: Facilities Management Engineer

This Facilities Management Engineer role will suit a mechanically minded engineer with strong HVAC and building services experience. You will cover client sites across the Munster region, carrying out PPM, reactive maintenance and technical support on mechanical and HVAC systems.

You will work closely with facilities teams, external contractors and site stakeholders to keep plant, equipment and services running with minimal disruption. The role plays a key part in operational reliability, compliance and long term building performance across multiple facilities.

Must Have Requirements

  • Must have proven facilities management experience with strong mechanical and HVAC knowledge
  • Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Services or similar is required
  • Hands on experience required with AHUs, chillers, boilers, pumps and ventilation systems
  • Strong fault finding, troubleshooting and maintenance reporting experience required

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in commercial, industrial or healthcare facilities preferred
  • F-Gas certification beneficial
  • Strong IT, service reporting and compliance documentation skills preferred
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals and plant documentation beneficial

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs with minimal disruption to building operations
  • Work on AHUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, ventilation systems and associated plant
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with health and safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports and technical documentation
  • Coordinate external contractors and ensure SLA, quality and safety standards are maintained
  • Support minor upgrades, installations and refurbishment works across facilities in the Munster region
  • Carry out routine inspections and audits of plant rooms, equipment and building services systems

About You

You are a practical Facilities Management Engineer with a strong mechanical and HVAC background. You understand how building services systems operate in live commercial or industrial environments and can respond quickly when issues arise.

You will be comfortable working independently across multiple sites throughout Munster, prioritising maintenance tasks and communicating clearly with facilities teams, contractors and building users. Strong attention to detail, good reporting habits and a safety focused approach are essential for this role.
