Our client is one of Ireland’s most established and highly regarded main contractors, delivering large-scale projects across Dublin and nationwide.
With a strong order book secured into 2025, they are actively expanding their pre-construction and estimating function to support a growing portfolio of high-value work. Their pipeline includes major developments in data centres, pharmaceutical and life sciences, commercial buildings, residential schemes, and specialist fit-out projects, typically ranging from €10m to €150m .
Known for a professional, forward-thinking environment and a strong emphasis on quality and technical precision, this contractor offers long-term stability and clear progression for experienced estimators.
The Role – Estimator
As Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing competitive and accurate tenders across a wide range of projects. Working closely with the preconstruction, commercial, and delivery teams, you will contribute directly to securing profitable projects and shaping tender strategy.

The Role – Estimator
As Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing competitive and accurate tenders across a wide range of projects. Working closely with the preconstruction, commercial, and delivery teams, you will contribute directly to securing profitable projects and shaping tender strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely tenders based on drawings, specs, BOQs, and tender documentation.
- Source, analyse, and interpret subcontractor and supplier quotations, identifying risk, ambiguity, and value opportunities.
- Issue drawings and tender packages to supply chain partners to secure competitive pricing.
- Ensure full tender compliance and produce clear tender breakdowns for internal review.
- Support the development of estimating systems, processes, and tender best practice.
- Stay up to date with contractual, market, and industry changes affecting tender strategy.
- Work collaboratively with design, planning, and commercial teams during bid preparation.
About You
- 5 years’ experience in an Estimating role with a main contractor.
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or similar (preferred).
- Strong numerical and analytical ability with high attention to detail.
- Confident interpreting technical drawings and construction specifications.
- Experience tendering across multiple sectors (commercial, residential, pharma, DC, industrial).
- Strong IT skills including Excel and estimating/QS packages.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing tender team.
