Based from the company's head office in Omagh, Co Tyrone, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with project teams across multiple live civil engineering projects, helping to drive environmental compliance and support long-term sustainability objectives.
The Role: Environmental Sustainability Advisor
Reporting to senior management, the Environmental Sustainability Advisor will support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Based in Omagh, Co Tyrone, you will work with site management teams to ensure environmental legislation, ISO 14001 standards and company procedures are implemented across all projects. You will also play a key role in supporting carbon reduction initiatives, environmental reporting and continuous improvement across the business.
Must Have Requirements:
• Must have a third level qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience required with at least 2 years in an environmental or sustainability role within construction, civil engineering or utilities.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and environmental management systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Experience
• Experience supporting ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
• Knowledge of carbon reporting, Net Zero initiatives and sustainability reporting.
• Experience delivering environmental training or toolbox talks.
• Previous interaction with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Support compliance with environmental legislation, permits and environmental standards across civil engineering projects.
• Assist project teams in implementing environmental management plans and site specific environmental controls.
• Carry out environmental inspections and audits on active construction sites.
• Monitor waste management, pollution prevention, dust, noise, water management and ecological protection measures.
• Investigate environmental incidents and assist with corrective actions.
• Support the delivery of the company's sustainability strategy and environmental objectives.
• Collect, monitor and analyse sustainability data including carbon emissions, energy usage, fuel consumption, waste, recycling and water usage.
• Assist with carbon reduction and Net Zero initiatives across the business.
• Prepare sustainability reports, client submissions and PQQ documentation.
• Deliver environmental briefings and toolbox talks to project teams.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, NIEA and other external stakeholders where required.
• Assist in maintaining ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

You will be organised, proactive and confident communicating with site personnel, clients and external stakeholders while maintaining a practical approach to environmental compliance.
