The Company
This international engineering contractor delivers complex electrical, mechanical, data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, and power infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe.
With a strong pipeline of secured projects across Europe and continued growth in the data centre and industrial sectors, the company is seeking an Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Milan.
This is an opportunity to become part of a business delivering some of Europe's most technically demanding projects while gaining valuable international project experience and long-term career progression.
The Role: Electrical Quantity Surveyor
This is a commercially focused role offering ownership of projects from tender award through to final account.
Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Planning Teams, subcontractors, and clients, you will manage project costs, control commercial risk, administer contracts, and ensure the successful financial delivery of major electrical projects.
This role is ideal for an Electrical Quantity Surveyor who enjoys being actively involved in project delivery and wants the opportunity to influence commercial outcomes rather than simply report on them.
Must Have Requirements
You are a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor who understands the importance of accurate reporting, strong contract administration, and proactive cost management.
You can manage your workload independently, communicate effectively with project stakeholders, and identify commercial risks before they become project issues.
You take pride in maintaining accurate records, supporting project teams, and contributing to the successful commercial delivery of major projects.
What’s on Offer
Salary: €80,000 to €100,000 DOE
Exceptional candidates with significant data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large-scale M&E project experience may attract a higher package.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Must have previous experience as an Electrical Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of valuations, variations, cost control, contract administration, and final account management.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and commercial reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial awareness skills.
- Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial, or power project experience preferred.
- Experience working with an M&E contractor or engineering services contractor beneficial.
- Knowledge of contract administration and commercial risk management.
- Experience working alongside Planning Engineers and project delivery teams.
- Electrical trade or technical engineering background.
- Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or similar contract forms.
- Experience working on large-scale European projects.
- Exposure to project controls and earned value reporting.
- Prepare and manage BOQs, budgets, forecasts, profit plans, and commercial reports.
- Lead interim commercial meetings with clients and project teams.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
- Prepare accurate monthly applications including remeasures, dayworks, variations, and commercial claims.
- Identify commercial risks and escalate issues where required.
- Work closely with Planning Engineers to ensure commercial reporting aligns with project progress.
- Cost and agree site changes, variation orders, and subcontractor remeasurements.
- Maintain detailed commercial records and supporting documentation.
- Negotiate commercial matters with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project performance and support profitability objectives.
- Provide commercial reporting and updates to project management and senior leadership teams.
- Ensure compliance with company commercial procedures and information security requirements.
