The Role – Electrical Project Engineer
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of electrical packages across power and renewables projects. You will be involved from early stage design and procurement through to construction, commissioning, and energisation.
Working as part of the transmission and distribution team, you will gain exposure to high voltage installations while supporting the successful delivery of projects to programme, budget, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Support delivery of electrical projects across HV and MV systems within the power and renewables sector
• Prepare and review electrical design drawings for high and low voltage installations
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and internal project teams
• Assist with procurement, requisitions, and ensuring timely delivery of materials
• Manage RFIs and resolve technical queries with stakeholders
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation
• Carry out inspections, snagging, and quality assurance checks
• Assist with commissioning activities and preparation of test documentation
• Support project planning including schedules, material take offs, and programmes
• Contribute to cable sizing, containment design, and lighting calculations
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards
About You
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years experience in electrical project engineering within industrial or infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of HV and MV electrical systems
• Experience within power, renewables, or transmission and distribution projects is advantageous
• Knowledge of electrical standards and industry regulations
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Project
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
• Analytical and solutions driven approach
• Commercial awareness and ability to work within project constraints
