Electrical Contracts Manager Skills:
- Degree qualified in Business Administration, Construction Management, Law, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in contracts management, commercial management, or a similar role within electrical contracting or construction
- Proven experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering construction contracts
- Strong knowledge of contract forms and commercial fundamentals including scope, programme, pricing, warranties, and risk allocation
- Excellent understanding of construction law, dispute resolution processes, and contractual compliance
- High attention to detail with strong organisational and documentation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills (written and verbal)
- Confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software
- Strong IT skills with the ability to maintain tracking systems, repositories, and reporting tools
- Review, draft, analyse, and negotiate contracts including client agreements, subcontractor agreements, vendor agreements, NDAs, and change orders
- Administer contracts from award through to project closeout, ensuring obligations are met by all parties
- Manage contract variations, claims, and change order documentation including pricing, approvals, and supporting justification
- Maintain a centralised contract repository and tracking system for active contracts, insurance documentation, and bonds
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, financial, and legal risk across project deliverables, payment terms, warranties, and indemnities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant legislation
- Oversee insurance and bonding requirements for subcontractors and project partners
- Work closely with estimators and project managers during tender stage to review contract terms and conditions
- Provide guidance on contractual interpretation to internal teams
- Support in dispute resolution, negotiation processes, and claim preparation/defence
- Monitor project financials in line with contract terms including billing schedules, retention, and milestone payments
- Act as the key point of contact for contractual communications with clients and subcontractors
- Prepare reports on contract status, risk items, and key issues for senior management
