Job title: EHS Lead – Data Centre Construction

The Role: EHS Lead
As EHS Lead, you will take responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety management on a major data centre construction project in Finland.
Working closely with the project team, subcontractors and client representatives, you will ensure works are carried out in line with relevant EHS legislation, project-specific safety plans and the company’s Integrated Management System.
You will also lead and support the wider EHS team where required, driving a strong safety culture across all project disciplines and maintaining high standards throughout construction.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced EHS Lead or senior Health and Safety professional with a strong background on large-scale construction projects.
You will have practical knowledge of EHS legislation, risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work systems and Integrated Management Systems, along with proven experience managing an EHS team.
You will be comfortable working with construction teams, subcontractors, senior management and client representatives in a busy site environment. Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills are important, as is the ability to maintain attention to detail while managing safety requirements across the project.
Previous data centre construction experience would be a strong advantage.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a relevant qualification in Environmental, Health and Safety or NEBOSH
- Significant EHS experience on large-scale construction projects is required
- Proven experience managing an EHS team and delivering project safety requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of current EHS legislation and construction safety practices
- Data centre construction experience preferred
- Autodesk BIM 360 Field experience beneficial
- Strong experience implementing Integrated Management Systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Manage EHS compliance across a large-scale data centre construction project in Finland
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental, health and safety legislation and the project delivery plan
- Implement and maintain project-specific Environmental, Health and Safety Plans
- Coordinate and review method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action and permit-to-work procedures
- Lead and manage the wider EHS team where required, ensuring project safety deliverables are met
- Carry out regular site audits and inspections, documenting findings and following through on corrective actions
- Manage REACH assessments, hazardous substances controls and reporting to senior management
- Work closely with client representatives and respond promptly to safety observations
- Deliver safety-focused information sessions across the project to maintain high levels of safety awareness
