We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Commissioning Manager to join a leading electrical contracting business delivering large-scale projects across Ireland.

You will play a pivotal role in leading the testing, commissioning and handover of complex electrical systems, ensuring all installations are fully compliant, operational and delivered to the highest quality and safety standards across sectors including commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and healthcare.

Commissioning Manager (Electrical) – Skills & Experience
  • Trade-qualified electrician with 5 years’ experience in an electrical commissioning role

  • 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering (advantageous)

  • In-depth knowledge of ETCI National Rules, Building Regulations and Irish/European standards

  • Extensive hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment, commissioning procedures and BMS

  • Strong technical understanding of electrical systems across commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and healthcare projects

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, fault-find and resolve technical issues during commissioning

  • Strong leadership, mentoring and team-management skills

  • Excellent coordination, communication, negotiation and client-facing abilities

  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and technical documentation skills

  • Ability to manage programmes, work independently and oversee multiple projects

  • Commercial awareness and estimating knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software

  • Eligible to work in Ireland with a full clean driving licence

As an Electrical Commissioning Manager, you will:
  • Coordinate and oversee all testing and commissioning activities across electrical and specialist systems

  • Develop and manage comprehensive commissioning plans, programmes and schedules

  • Ensure all systems are fully tested, commissioned, signed off and performing to specification

  • Liaise with subcontractors, specialist contractors, manufacturers and suppliers to ensure coordinated commissioning

  • Coordinate with mechanical and civil trades to deliver integrated systems commissioning

  • Attend and contribute to project and stakeholder coordination meetings

  • Report regularly to the Project Director / Manager on commissioning progress, risks and completion status

  • Oversee preparation of detailed test sheets, commissioning records and certification

  • Sign off completed testing and commissioning activities

  • Coordinate resolution of technical issues during commissioning and performance testing

  • Complete RECI / Safe Electric certification and ensure all compliance documentation is provided

  • Work closely with design consultants to ensure installations meet specification requirements

  • Lead system performance verification, functional testing and reliability checks

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electricians and apprentices

  • Support client walkthroughs and technical handover processes

  • Maintain accurate records within project folders and the Quality Management System

  • Uphold quality standards in line with ISO 9001:2015

  • Ensure all EH&S requirements are met throughout commissioning activities

  • Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations and technical developments

  • Complete required CPD and attend ongoing technical training programmes
