The Company

This international engineering services contractor delivers large-scale mission critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, and data centre projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe.

With a strong reputation for technical delivery and project execution, the company continues to expand across the European data centre market and is currently delivering multiple hyperscale projects throughout the region.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to support major data centre projects in Denmark.

The Role: Commissioning Manager

The Commissioning Manager will take responsibility for the planning, coordination, management, and execution of all turnover, testing, and commissioning activities across large-scale mission critical projects.

Working closely with construction, engineering, commissioning specialists, OEMs, and client teams, you will ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements.

This role requires a technically strong Commissioning Manager with experience leading testing and commissioning activities on complex data centre or mission critical developments.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have a third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in commissioning, testing, or turnover leadership roles
• Proven experience required delivering data centre or mission critical projects
• Strong experience managing commissioning programmes, systems testing, and handover activities
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management capability required

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Integrated Systems Testing (IST) beneficial
• Strong knowledge of commissioning documentation, system matrices, and commissioning protocols
• Experience managing Authorised Persons and ESSW requirements advantageous
• Experience coordinating OEMs, specialist vendors, and client commissioning teams preferred

Nice to Have

• European project experience
• Safe Electric or NICEIC exposure beneficial
• Experience supporting tender reviews and technical interviews advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all turnover, testing, and commissioning activities across assigned projects
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, strategies, and protocols aligned with programme delivery
• Act as the primary commissioning interface between clients, consultants, and project teams
• Mentor and develop commissioning engineers, testers, and Authorised Persons
• Develop and review commissioning schedules, system matrices, and commissioning documentation
• Chair commissioning and turnover kick-off meetings
• Lead commissionability reviews and provide sequencing and constructability input
• Ensure system walk-downs and test packs are completed and maintained correctly
• Monitor installation quality and commissioning readiness across all systems
• Manage commissioning and QC non-conformances and ensure timely close-out
• Ensure commissioning activities are witnessed, signed off, and formally accepted
• Review and approve vendor SAT and commissioning procedures
• Coordinate client training and system handover activities
• Produce commissioning progress and quality reports for senior management teams
• Track snagging, close-out activities, and final certification prior to handover
• Support audits, client inspections, recruitment, and commissioning resource planning

About You

You are an experienced Commissioning Manager with a strong technical background in mission critical or data centre construction projects.

You have excellent leadership and coordination skills, understand complex commissioning and turnover processes, and can manage multiple stakeholders across fast-paced live project environments.

You are organised, commercially aware, and capable of driving commissioning activities safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
