The organisation combines the stability of a long-established, family-owned contractor with the scale, systems, and ambition of a modern Tier 1 infrastructure business.

Due to continued growth across new and existing frameworks, they are now seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support the successful delivery of major projects across Ireland.


The Role – Commercial Manager As Commercial Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the commercial and contractual performance of multiple projects, working closely with Sector Directors, Project Managers, and senior stakeholders.

This is a senior, client-facing role, requiring strong leadership, sound commercial judgement, and deep experience in public-sector infrastructure contracts.

You will act as a trusted commercial lead, ensuring contracts are administered correctly, value is protected, and opportunities are maximised throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clients and their representatives

  • Represent the company at commercial and contractual meetings

  • Support Sector Directors on commercial strategy and decision-making

  • Lead the preparation of interim, monthly, and final valuations

  • Manage cashflow forecasting, cost/value reconciliation, and financial reporting

  • Ensure full recovery of all contract entitlements

  • Oversee procurement of subcontractor and supplier agreements

  • Examine and interpret contract documents, identifying risks and anomalies

  • Ensure contractual compliance across all project stakeholders

  • Prepare and agree interim and final accounts with client representatives

  • Manage subcontractor valuations, payments, and final accounts

  • Record and protect entitlement in relation to delays, variations, and claims

  • Support and coordinate the preparation of contractual claims

  • Establish and manage cost control and coding systems

  • Monitor subcontractor commercial performance

  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to commercial teams

  • Maintain high morale, accountability, and continuous improvement


About You
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Member of a recognised professional institution

  • 10 years’ experience in the construction or civil engineering sector

  • Strong experience working on public sector infrastructure contracts

  • Excellent commercial, contractual, and negotiation skills

  • Confident communicator with strong written and spoken English

  • Proven ability to lead teams and engage senior stakeholders

  • Full clean Irish/EU driving licence

  • Authorised to work in Ireland (Stamp 4 or valid work permit)
