Are you ready to lead the commercial strategy on some of Ireland’s most ambitious civil engineering projects?

One of Ireland’s leading Civils Contractors is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their senior team. Operating across Ireland, this company has a proven track record in delivering high-value, multi-million-euro projects with innovation, quality, and engineering excellence at its core.

The Role?

As Commercial Manager, you will take full ownership of the commercial function across multiple large-scale projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and strategic cost control. You will lead a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff, fostering collaboration to mitigate risks and drive best value for the business.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide commercial leadership across multiple multi-million-euro projects in Leinster.

  • Lead, support, and develop a high-performing team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff.

  • Ensure strict adherence to contract terms, risk management, and compliance procedures.

  • Oversee pre-qualification, tendering, procurement, and commercial handover from Pre-Construction.

  • Conduct regular cost reviews, ensuring projects meet or exceed financial targets.

  • Approve payment certificates, valuations, subcontract agreements, and final accounts.

  • Manage project risk registers, insurance, bonds, warranties, and other commercial documentation.

  • Report regularly to senior leadership on project performance and financial forecasts.

  • Champion health, safety, and quality in all commercial activities.

  Skills & Experience Required:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager delivering projects €10m+.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies and project financials.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).

  • Commercially astute, detail-driven, and able to work autonomously.
