The Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor:
This Senior Quantity Surveyor position is a key commercial role within the business, responsible for overseeing the financial performance of multiple residential construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Working closely with directors, project managers, site managers, architects, and subcontractors, you will take ownership of cost control, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reporting across a varied portfolio of residential projects.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play an important role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining the high standards of quality and finish the company is known for throughout Co Meath and Dublin.
Must Have Requirements:
• Must have 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Irish construction industry
• Proven experience required managing residential construction projects from start to completion
• Experience with subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts is required
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge within a main contractor or residential contractor environment
• Full driving licence and ability to attend project sites across Dublin and Leinster
Preferred Experience:
• Experience on bespoke homes, high-end residential projects, or residential developments preferred
• Knowledge of sustainable construction or passive house projects beneficial
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management experience
Nice to Have
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• Experience using modern cost management software
• Knowledge of public and private residential procurement processes
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage project budgets and maintain accurate commercial reporting
• Prepare cost plans, forecasts, and monthly valuations
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and appointments
• Monitor project expenditure and identify commercial risks
• Manage variations, change control, and contractual matters
• Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts
• Liaise with project managers and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking
• Attend project meetings and provide commercial guidance throughout delivery
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
• Support the continued growth and development of the commercial function
About You:
You are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in residential construction and a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
You understand the commercial challenges associated with bespoke homes, residential developments, and refurbishment projects. You are organised, commercially aware, and capable of working closely with both site and office teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage financial performance from inception to completion are essential for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position in Co Meath.
