The Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
This Senior Quantity Surveyor position is based on a large-scale data centre project in Blanchardstown, Co Dublin. You will play a key role within the commercial team, taking responsibility for cost management, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Director, site management team, and subcontractors, you will help ensure commercial objectives are achieved while supporting successful programme delivery on a fast-moving live construction project.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be heavily involved in subcontractor management, valuations, variations, financial forecasting, and final account negotiations.
Must Have Requirements:
• Must have a minimum of 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Proven experience required with a main contractor or specialist contractor environment
• Experience on data centre, industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial, or large-scale construction projects is required
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, cost control, procurement, and financial reporting
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline required
Preferred Experience:
• Data centre project experience preferred
• Experience managing large subcontractor packages
• Knowledge of NEC, JCT, or similar construction contracts beneficial
• Experience using commercial management software and reporting systems
Nice to Have:
• Chartered status or progress towards chartership
• International project experience
• Strong claims and variation management experience
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and commercial reporting
• Prepare and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Procure and commercially manage subcontractor packages
• Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts
• Support contract administration and compliance requirements
• Liaise closely with project management and site delivery teams
• Attend commercial meetings with clients and subcontractors
• Ensure strong cost control throughout all stages of project delivery
• Contribute to successful programme and financial performance on the data centre project
About You:
You are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background delivering large construction projects within Ireland or internationally. You understand the commercial demands of fast-paced projects and have the ability to manage multiple work packages while maintaining attention to detail.
You will be commercially aware, organised, and confident managing client and subcontractor relationships. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operational teams are essential.
