Senior Mechanical Engineer Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, ideally within data centre or large industrial projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, pipework, and plant equipment
- Experience managing installation sequencing, technical procurement, and contractor coordination
- Ability to manage project changes and support monthly valuations and final accounts
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of maintaining strong client and contractor relationships
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a dynamic, fast-moving site environment
- Coordinate mechanical installation activities with contractors to ensure smooth integration of services
- Support client communications and provide technical guidance to the project team
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and other construction documentation
- Manage and monitor mechanical deliverables to meet programme, quality, and safety standards
- Sequence pipework and plant installation in coordination with the wider project team
- Assist with the technical procurement of equipment, specialist subcontractors, and suppliers
- Document and cost changes to the mechanical scope, supporting valuations and final account preparation
- Contribute to commissioning and handover activities, ensuring all systems meet project requirements
