The Company
This Irish mechanical engineering contractor delivers technically demanding building services projects across Ireland and mainland Europe, with a strong workload across the data centre, pharmaceutical, commercial and industrial sectors.
With continued project delivery in Germany, they are looking for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to work as part of the project team on a major mechanical engineering package.
The Role: Senior Health & Safety Advisor
This Senior Health & Safety Advisor role is based in Germany and will operate on a 10 days on, 4 days off rotation, with return flights and accommodation provided.
You will take responsibility for maintaining strong Health & Safety standards across a busy data centre construction environment, working closely with Project Managers, engineers, supervisors and specialist subcontractors.
The role requires someone who can operate independently on site, identify issues early and ensure safe systems of work are properly implemented without slowing programme delivery.
Must Have Requirements
You will be an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor with a practical construction background and the confidence to manage safety requirements independently on a major European project.
Mechanical, M&E or data centre experience would be particularly relevant. You should be comfortable dealing directly with Project Managers, supervisors, engineers, trades and subcontractors in a busy site environment.
You will need to be organised, commercially aware and capable of balancing high safety standards with the practical requirements of delivering construction works to programme.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have proven Health & Safety experience within construction or engineering
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification required
- Proven experience required working within a live construction site environment
- Must be comfortable working in Germany on a 10/4 rotational schedule
- Strong knowledge of RAMS, site audits and subcontractor safety management required
- Mechanical, M&E or building services construction experience strongly preferred
- Data centre project experience beneficial
- Previous experience working on European construction projects advantageous
- Experience managing safety across large specialist subcontractor packages preferred
- Manage day-to-day Health & Safety requirements across the mechanical construction package
- Carry out site audits and inspections and ensure corrective actions are closed out
- Review RAMS, permits and subcontractor safety documentation
- Monitor site activities and challenge unsafe practices where required
- Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and project safety initiatives
- Investigate incidents and near misses and manage appropriate corrective actions
- Work closely with project management, engineering and subcontractor teams to maintain safe programme delivery
- Support and mentor junior safety personnel where required
