The Role: Senior Engineer
As Senior Engineer, you will be based in Monaghan, Co Monaghan, taking a lead role on building services projects from initial concept and planning through detailed design, coordination and commissioning.
You will manage your own project workload with minimal supervision while providing technical direction to Intermediate and Junior Engineers. The position involves regular interaction with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the wider design team.
You will have a significant influence on technical quality, programme delivery and client relationships, while helping develop sustainable engineering, building physics and BIM solutions across complex projects.
Must Have Requirements
You will be an experienced Senior Engineer with a strong building services consultancy background and the technical ability to take ownership of challenging projects.
You should be comfortable managing other engineers while remaining hands-on with design, coordination and technical problem solving. Strong communication and client-facing skills are important, along with a practical approach to sustainable design, building physics and BIM-led project delivery.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 7+ years’ relevant building services engineering design experience within a consultancy or related environment
- Degree or higher qualification in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline required
- Proven experience required delivering building services designs across multiple project sectors
- Strong AutoCAD and engineering design calculation software experience required
- Must be capable of leading projects, managing other engineers and maintaining strong client relationships
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards Chartership preferred
- Experience delivering high-value or technically complex projects beneficial
- BIM and 3D modelling experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of energy-efficient and low-carbon building design
- IES Virtual Environment and thermal modelling experience beneficial
- Lead building services engineering projects from concept design through detailed design and commissioning
- Manage engineering design, technical coordination, programmes and design deliverables
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to Intermediate and Junior Engineers
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines
- Review designs, calculations, drawings and BIM information to maintain technical and quality standards
- Develop strong client relationships while delivering practical and energy-efficient engineering solutions
