The Company

This role is with a well-established Irish civil engineering and building contractor delivering complex projects across infrastructure, commercial, residential, and specialist construction sectors.

With decades of experience in the Irish market, the business has built a strong reputation for reliability, quality delivery, and long-term client relationships. Project values typically range from €5m to €50m , supported by strong in-house engineering, commercial, and delivery teams.

Due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline, they are now seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead purchasing strategy and supply chain performance across multiple projects.


The Role – Procurement Manager

As Procurement Manager, you will take ownership of procurement across live projects and pre-construction, ensuring materials, plant, and subcontract packages are sourced efficiently, competitively, and in line with programme requirements.

This is a senior role working closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Site Teams to support successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage procurement strategies aligned with project programmes and budgets.

  • Source, negotiate, and appoint suppliers and subcontractors across multiple projects.

  • Manage material and plant procurement schedules to meet site requirements.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to maximise value and control costs.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and supply chain risks.

  • Collaborate with commercial teams on cost control and forecasting.

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Identify opportunities for long-term supplier agreements and efficiencies.

  • Support tendering and pre-construction activities where required.


About You
  • Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or Senior Buyer role within construction or civils.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and supply chain management.

  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication skills across site and office teams.

  • Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, or similar (advantageous but not essential).
