The Company
Based in Co Mayo, this growing Irish mechanical engineering contractor delivers specialist pipework, fabrication, modular construction and mechanical installation projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Their work spans life sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturing, water treatment, wastewater, commercial and industrial sectors. The company has invested heavily in BIM, off-site fabrication and modern engineering delivery methods, allowing them to secure technically challenging projects and maintain a strong order book.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Piping Designer with strong AutoCAD Plant 3D experience to join their engineering and BIM team in Co Mayo.
The Role: Piping Designer
This is an excellent opportunity for a Piping Designer who enjoys working closely with fabrication, mechanical engineering and project delivery teams.
You will be responsible for producing detailed piping layouts, 3D models, fabrication drawings and isometric packages for a range of mechanical process and building services projects. The role offers exposure to pharmaceutical facilities, process pipework, water treatment infrastructure and industrial mechanical installations.
Working from the company's Mayo office, you will collaborate with engineers, project managers, workshop teams and site personnel to ensure designs are fully coordinated and fabrication-ready.
Must Have Requirements
You will be a technically strong Piping Designer who understands how designs translate into fabrication and site installation. Experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D is critical for this role.
You will be comfortable working in a collaborative engineering environment and capable of producing accurate, buildable designs that support efficient project delivery.
Strong attention to detail, communication skills and a practical understanding of mechanical pipework systems will be essential.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have proven experience as a Piping Designer, BIM Designer or Mechanical Designer
- Strong AutoCAD Plant 3D experience is essential
- Experience producing piping layouts, isometrics and fabrication drawings
- Proven experience working on process pipework, mechanical services or industrial projects
- Strong understanding of piping systems, fabrication and installation methods
- Revit MEP experience beneficial
- Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences or water treatment sectors preferred
- Knowledge of BIM coordination processes
- Familiarity with stainless steel and carbon steel pipework systems
- Experience working with mechanical contractors or fabrication companies
- Develop detailed Plant 3D piping models and layouts
- Produce fabrication drawings, spool drawings and isometric packages
- Coordinate piping routes with structural, architectural and MEP disciplines
- Support BIM coordination and clash detection processes
- Liaise with engineers, workshop teams and project managers
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications and standards
- Assist with material take-offs and procurement support
- Maintain drawing registers and revision control
- Support project delivery from design through fabrication and installation
