Mechanical Estimator – Data Centre & Industrial Projects

Are you a Mechanical Estimator looking to work on large-scale data centre and industrial projects from a Dublin-based head office?

This is a technically strong estimating role, suited to someone who understands mechanical building services and can produce accurate, competitive tenders on complex packages.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, supply chain partners and wider pre-construction teams to support projects across Ireland and mainland Europe.

Mechanical Estimator Skills:

• Strong mechanical building services background (HVAC, pipework, plant, utilities)
• Proven experience preparing detailed mechanical estimates from drawings and specifications
• Comfortable taking off quantities and building full mechanical cost plans
• Experience obtaining and analysing subcontractor/supplier pricing (Irish and European markets)
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to identify risk, scope gaps and VE opportunities
• Proficient in Excel and estimating software such as CostX, Buildsoft or similar
• Strong communication skills, able to present figures clearly to senior stakeholders
• Able to work to deadlines in a fast-paced tender environment

As a Mechanical Estimator:

• Prepare detailed mechanical tenders from drawings, specs and schedules
• Produce BOQs / pricing documents and complete full scope cost build-ups
• Issue enquiries and evaluate subcontractor/supplier returns with clear comparisons
• Identify and report on risks, exclusions, opportunities and scope clarifications
• Support tender strategy, value engineering and bid submissions
• Maintain and update cost databases and benchmarking for future tenders
• Prepare reports for management bid meetings and internal reviews
• Present estimates to senior management when required
• Coordinate with CSA and Electrical estimating teams to ensure aligned submissions
• Mentor and support junior commercial/estimating team members

The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect at least €70,000 plus package.
