You are a Mechanical Engineer with strong site experience, technical problem-solving ability, and a solid understanding of mechanical systems, looking to join an established and growing engineering team in Mayo.
In this role, you will be involved in reviewing technical documentation, coordinating on-site mechanical works, ensuring compliance with specifications, and supporting the successful delivery of high-quality projects across multiple sectors. This position involves regular site activity, contractor coordination, and ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

Mechanical Engineer Skills:
- Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or similar discipline).
- 3+ years of relevant site or field experience in mechanical engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, codes, and technical documents.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, materials, and construction methods.
- Experience coordinating, monitoring, and inspecting works on site.
- Familiarity with testing, commissioning and handover requirements for mechanical systems.
- Ability to prepare reports, highlight non-conformances, and document findings clearly.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
- Good IT skills and confidence using software for documentation and reporting.
- Leadership qualities — able to take ownership and drive tasks through to completion.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel across projects as required.
- Review contract documents, design drawings, specifications and ensure full compliance across project activities.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and vendors to ensure standards, regulations and legal requirements are met.
- Monitor and inspect mechanical works on site to ensure alignment with design intent, quality standards and project specifications.
- Prepare clear reports on quality, progress, compliance, third-party inspections, EHS considerations, and potential project delays.
- Support measurement and planning activities prior to construction in line with the programme.
- Understand commissioning requirements early in the project and support testing, commissioning and handover phases.
- Ensure materials and workmanship consistently meet the required quality and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate project records including site diaries/day books.
- Build strong working relationships across all project teams to support efficient and successful delivery.
- Manage workloads effectively while maintaining a strong focus on safety, timelines and client expectations.
