The Role: Mechanical Engineer
Based in Skellefteå, Sweden, you will support the delivery of mechanical systems on a major data centre project. Working closely with the Mechanical Project Manager, subcontractors and wider site team, you will play a key role in ensuring mechanical installations are delivered safely, to specification and in line with programme requirements.
This Mechanical Engineer position offers exposure to large-scale HVAC, chilled water, pipework and associated mechanical building services systems within a fast-moving data centre environment.

Salary: €65,000 – €85,000 DOE

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Mechanical Engineer on construction projects
- Proven experience required with mechanical building services installations including HVAC and piping systems
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications and installation methodologies
- Experience working with mechanical subcontractors in a site-based environment
- Data centre experience preferred
- Industrial, pharmaceutical or mission-critical project experience beneficial
- Experience managing RFIs and technical submittals
- Exposure to commissioning and QA/QC procedures
- BIM coordination experience
- Mechanical commissioning knowledge
- European project experience
- Additional industry certifications
- Support the coordination and delivery of mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications and technical submittals
- Monitor installation progress and ensure works are completed in accordance with programme requirements
- Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, supervisors and project stakeholders
- Support QA/QC inspections and quality assurance processes
- Manage and track RFIs with the design and engineering teams
- Attend engineering reviews, planning meetings and coordination meetings
- Assist with mechanical inspections, testing and verification activities
- Monitor technical documentation and maintain accurate project records
- Support the commercial team with variation tracking and progress reporting
- Assist with mechanical snagging and project close-out activities
- Identify technical issues and support their resolution on site
- You have experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within the construction sector
- You understand HVAC systems, pipework installations and mechanical building services
- You are comfortable working within large project teams and coordinating subcontractors
- You have strong technical and organisational skills
- You can review drawings, identify issues and support programme delivery
- You are proactive, detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high quality standards
- You enjoy working in fast-paced construction environments with demanding technical requirements
