This established Irish main contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering large-scale residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use developments across Ireland and the UK. With a growing presence in Scotland, they are currently delivering a landmark student accommodation project in Glasgow and are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to support successful project delivery.

The Role: Logistics Manager

Based in Glasgow, this Logistics Manager position will play a critical role on a major 18-storey student accommodation development comprising 663 student bedrooms alongside extensive resident amenities including gaming areas, social spaces, study facilities and recreational rooms.

You will take ownership of all site logistics operations, ensuring the smooth movement of materials, deliveries, plant, labour and subcontractors throughout the construction programme. Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Management team and subcontractors, you will ensure site access, storage and traffic management plans support efficient project delivery.

This is a key role on a busy city-centre construction project where strong planning, communication and organisational skills are essential.

Must Have Requirements:
  • Proven experience required as a Logistics Manager on large construction projects
  • Experience managing site logistics on multi-storey building developments
  • Strong understanding of health & safety procedures within a live construction environment
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, deliveries and site access requirements
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills


Preferred Experience:
  •  Student accommodation project experience preferred
  •  Experience on high-rise residential or commercial developments
  •  Knowledge of logistics software and digital reporting systems
  •  Experience working with an Irish or UK main contractor


Nice to Have:
  •  Relevant construction or logistics qualification
  •  Traffic management coordination experience
  •  SMSTS, SSSTS or equivalent certification
  •  First Aid qualification


Key Responsibilities:
  •  Develop and manage the overall site logistics strategy
  •  Coordinate all material deliveries and site distribution activities
  •  Manage site access points, traffic management and delivery schedules
  •  Monitor storage areas and ensure efficient material handling procedures
  •  Coordinate subcontractor movements and workforce logistics
  •  Liaise with suppliers, site management and commercial teams
  •  Ensure all logistics operations comply with health & safety requirements
  •  Manage waste removal and housekeeping standards across the project
  •  Maintain accurate records, reports and logistics documentation
  •  Support programme delivery through effective planning and coordination


About You

You will have a background in construction logistics, site management or project coordination with experience on large-scale building projects. You will be highly organised, capable of managing multiple activities simultaneously and comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment.

Strong communication skills are essential as you will work closely with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team to ensure the project remains on programme. Experience managing logistics on high-rise developments or student accommodation projects would be highly advantageous.
