The Company
Our client is one of Ireland’s leading Tier 1 main contractors, delivering large-scale commercial, residential and mixed-use developments across Leinster and nationwide.
They operate at the top end of the market, typically delivering projects in the €50m–€200m range, backed by strong delivery systems, in-house technical capability, and a culture where safety is treated as a core operational pillar.
With continued expansion and a strong order book across Leinster, they are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and drive best-in-class HSEQ performance across multiple live sites.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will take full ownership of Health & Safety performance across a portfolio of major projects. You’ll mentor site-based H&S staff, audit and improve systems, and work closely with project teams to ensure a zero-tolerance culture is implemented consistently on the ground.

The Role – Health & Safety Manager
Reporting to senior leadership, you will take full ownership of Health & Safety performance across a portfolio of major projects. You’ll mentor site-based H&S staff, audit and improve systems, and work closely with project teams to ensure a zero-tolerance culture is implemented consistently on the ground.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the company Safety Management System across Leinster projects.
- Drive a proactive safety culture on site through visible leadership, coaching, and consistent standards.
- Manage and mentor site-based H&S Advisors, ensuring competence, support, and performance.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections and compliance reviews, maintaining robust reporting and corrective action close-out.
- Oversee risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work, ensuring quality and practical application.
- Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis and preventative strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with Irish H&S legislation and company procedures.
- Work with Senior Project Teams to identify high-risk activities early and mitigate effectively.
- Deliver H&S performance reporting, KPI dashboards and board-level updates.
- Support training strategy including inductions, toolbox talks, competence tracking and CPD.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and statutory bodies on safety matters as required.
About You
- Degree-qualified in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
- 8 years’ H&S experience in construction, with at least 3 years at Manager level.
- Strong main contractor background on large-scale projects.
- Excellent working knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and best practice standards.
- Proven record leading teams and driving measurable safety improvements.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence teams at all levels.
- Highly organised, solutions-focused and comfortable operating in fast-paced environments.
- Full driving licence and right to work in Ireland.
