The Company

This international engineering contractor delivers complex power, renewables, data centre, pharmaceutical, and industrial projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe.

With a significant pipeline of high-voltage and medium-voltage infrastructure projects secured across Ireland, the company continues to expand its project delivery team and is now seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to lead the successful delivery of a major HV/MV project in Co Cork.

The Role: Electrical Site Manager

The Electrical Site Manager will take responsibility for all site-based activities from project mobilisation through to commissioning, handover, and project close-out.

Working closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives, you will manage site operations, drive programme delivery, maintain the highest safety and quality standards, and ensure electrical installations are completed in line with project requirements.

This role is ideally suited to an Electrical Site Manager with experience delivering HV/MV, utilities, substations, renewables, power distribution, or major industrial electrical projects.

Must Have Requirements
  • Recognised Electrical apprenticeship or trade qualification required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in an Electrical Site Manager role.
  • Proven experience managing electrical design and build projects valued in excess of €5 million.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, electrical installation methodologies, and project delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills required.
Preferred Experience
  • HV/MV power infrastructure, substations, renewables, or utilities project experience preferred.
  • Experience managing large subcontractor workforces beneficial.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent health and safety qualifications advantageous.
  • PICW Person in Charge of Work Level A certification beneficial.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working on power transmission and distribution projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project variations.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and energisation activities.
  • Experience using digital project management and reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support project mobilisation activities including planning, site establishment, resource scheduling, and project validation.
  • Assist in the development of construction programmes, look-ahead schedules, and materials management plans.
  • Review drawings, specifications, risk assessments, and method statements prior to commencement of works.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations and coordinate all electrical activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain detailed site records and project diaries.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure productivity targets are achieved.
  • Coordinate labour resources, plant, equipment, and materials to support programme delivery.
  • Chair site meetings and provide regular progress updates to project management teams.
  • Manage project variations and ensure commercial impacts are identified and communicated.
  • Drive health and safety performance through audits, toolbox talks, safety briefings, inspections, and behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with permit systems, safety procedures, and company standards.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and enforce QA/QC procedures throughout installation activities.
  • Manage inspection and testing activities and coordinate client inspections.
  • Ensure zero snag objectives are achieved through effective quality management and close-out processes.
  • Raise and close NCRs where required and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities and support system testing and energisation.
  • Manage project demobilisation and ensure all project documentation, drawings, certifications, and handover information are completed.
About You

You are an experienced Electrical Site Manager with a strong trade background and proven experience delivering complex electrical infrastructure projects.

You have the leadership skills to manage large site teams and subcontractors while maintaining focus on safety, quality, programme delivery, and commercial performance.

You are organised, proactive, and capable of driving projects from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover while building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
