Job title: Electrical Engineer – Water & Wastewater

The Company
This Tier 1 civil engineering contractor has a strong presence across Ireland’s water and wastewater sector, delivering treatment plants, pumping stations and major water infrastructure projects.
Based in Charleville, Co Cork, this Electrical Engineer position will work across water and wastewater projects throughout Cork and the wider Southwest region.
The Role: Electrical Engineer
As Electrical Engineer, you will work across the design, delivery and commissioning of electrical systems for wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, upgrades and expansion projects.
The role covers LV electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, MCCs, VSDs and motors, giving you involvement from initial design and procurement through installation, commissioning and handover.
Must Have Requirements
You will be an Electrical Engineer with a good grounding in LV electrical systems, controls and instrumentation.
The strongest fit will be someone with water, wastewater or MEICA experience who is comfortable working across design, technical coordination, site delivery and commissioning.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ideally 2–3+ years’ electrical engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of LV electrical and control systems required.
- Good instrumentation knowledge required.
- Water, wastewater or MEICA project experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with MCCs, VSDs, motors and electrical control panels beneficial.
- Electrical design and commissioning experience advantageous.
- Design and specify electrical systems for wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
- Prepare load schedules, SLDs, cable schedules, electrical layouts and control philosophies.
- Complete cable sizing calculations and review electrical schematics, P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil and process engineers.
- Carry out site surveys of existing electrical installations and equipment.
- Prepare technical submissions and support electrical equipment procurement.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of MCCs, VSDs, motors, panels, lighting and instrumentation.
- Support projects through construction, commissioning and final handover.
