This established engineering contractor delivers large-scale mission critical facilities across Germany and mainland Europe. Specialising in hyperscale data centres and complex M&E projects, the business has earned a reputation for delivering technically demanding projects from design coordination through commissioning and client handover.
With a strong pipeline of new developments across Germany, they are now seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a flagship data centre project in Frankfurt, Hessen.
The Role: Commissioning Manager
This Commissioning Manager position will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of all commissioning activities across a major data centre project in Frankfurt. Working alongside the Project Director, QA/QC team, package managers, specialist subcontractors and client representatives, you will ensure all Mechanical and Electrical systems are commissioned safely, efficiently and in line with programme milestones.
You'll take ownership of the commissioning programme from design review and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) through integrated systems testing and final client handover.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Commissioning Manager with a strong technical background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a proven track record delivering complex data centre projects. You understand commissioning from design through to client handover and can successfully coordinate multiple contractors while maintaining programme, quality and safety standards.
You are comfortable working in a fast-moving mission critical environment and have the leadership skills to drive commissioning teams while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Must Have Requirements
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer on large-scale data centre or mission critical construction projects
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a minimum of 5 years' commissioning management experience
- Strong understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical commissioning processes
- Proven ability to manage commissioning programmes, subcontractors, vendors and client stakeholders
- Previous experience working for a main contractor or specialist M&E contractor is required
- Experience delivering hyperscale or enterprise data centre projects
- Strong knowledge of CFCI and OFCI commissioning packages
- Experience managing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Functional Witness Testing (FWT) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
- Familiarity with digital commissioning platforms and QA/QC documentation
- Previous experience working on projects across Germany or mainland Europe
- Knowledge of commissioning management software
- Additional commissioning or project management qualifications
- Lead and supervise Commissioning Engineers across multiple work packages
- Develop commissioning strategies and manage delivery against project milestones
- Coordinate Mechanical and Electrical commissioning activities across all systems
- Manage commissioning schedules, reporting and programme updates
- Review technical designs and resolve commissioning queries with consultants and design team
- Coordinate FATs, FWTs, integrated systems testing and final client demonstrations
- Manage commissioning activities for subcontractors and equipment vendors
- Ensure commissioning documentation, test scripts and sign-off records are completed and approved
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to achieve quality and handover objectives
- Maintain high Health & Safety standards throughout all commissioning activities
- Attend and lead internal, vendor and client commissioning meetings
