Senior Civil Engineer - Northern Scotland - Large Civil's project

£60,000 - £70,000 + vehicle, pension, healthcare

The Main Contractor:

A leading Tier 1 Main Contractor working on €multi-million projects in the UK, Ireland and across Europe including large data centres, hospitals, apartments, hotels, motorways, pipelines and bridges.

They currently have a permanent position for a strong Senior Engineer / Site Agent to work on an electrical switching station near Wick in Scotland. The project will include: bulk earthworks, access roads, drainage & service ducts, structural steel & cladding, building fit out, MEP, security fencing and landscaping.

 

Senior Site Engineer Skills:

The Senior Civil Engineer role would suit an experienced, self-reliant individual with 5+ years post graduate experience with a strong civil's background.

  • Engineering qualification
  • Strong civil's experience. Pipeline/duct installation experience is preferable.
  • Main Contractor experience preferable
  • An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets.
  • To have good spoken and written communication skills
  • To be self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
  • To be able to co-ordinate a number of different projects at the same time.

 

As Senior Civil Engineer:

Reporting to and working closely with the Project Manager, driving the project through to successful completion, on time, within budget and to the highest standards as required.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • You will liaise with the Project Manager on day-to-day basis.
  • Monitor and evaluate quality control for sub-contractor‘s work
  • Working with all aspects of Electrical Switching Station including earthworks, access roads, FRC works, structural steel, cladding, MEP and other ancillary works.
  • Manage and lead a team of engineers and sub-contractors.
  • Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc.
  • Supervision and monitoring of ground works and civil engineering contractors
  • Develop strong relationships with sub-contractors to deliver the desired outputs—on time and on budget, with high attention to quality and detail
  • Maintain site records and quality assurance documentation
