Health and Safety Officer - Wicklow - Large water project

Ireland, Wicklow

€55,000 - €60,000 + vehicle, bonus, pension

The Main Contractor:

A leading Tier 1 Irish Main Contractor with €multi-million projects in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow including a €100m data centre and €120 high rise office development.

They currently have a permanent position for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor / HSE Officer / Health and Safety Officer to work on a large water project in Wicklow.

 

Health and Safety Officer Skills:

The Health and Safety role would suit an experienced, self-reliant, delivery orientated individual with 4+ years commercial/ mixed use construction experience:

  • You will have a third level degree qualification in Health and Safety
  • You will have 4+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • You have some experience within the Civil construction sector, preferably water / reservoirs, but this is not mandatory.
  • You have a strong and proven ability to influence change and be a champion of best practice
  • You must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • You will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • You must possess a full clean driving licence

 

As Health and Safety Advisor you will:

Report to and work closely with the senior Health and Safety Manager. You will be responsible for a large construction site, ensuring the implementation of safety statements, legislation and company policy across the site and that all relevant safety documents are completed and filed correctly.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • The Safety Officer will provide general support and assistance to the Senior Health & Safety Manager
  • You will carry out site safety inspections and conduct accident and dangerous occurrence investigations, within your designated area of responsibility
  • You will carry out Risk Assessments & complete Method Statements as required.
  • You will liaise with Site Managers to ensure Health and Safety documentation is up to date on site
  • You will maintain and track the accident and dangerous occurrence register
  • You'll drive a safety culture by being a champion of best practice; conducting training for new and existing employees on the importance of health and safety on the job; and by suggesting improvements to existing methods of work.

 

The Package:

An attractive package of €55,000 - €60,000 will be put in place for the successful candidate including vehicle, bonus, pension, depending on experience, and the opportunity to work with one of the most exciting Main Contractors in Ireland.
