Commercial Manager / Senior QS- €280Mill Road Project

A newly awarded road project in Co Cork. A €280 Million project, which will take 3.5 years to complete, commencing in Q1 2020.

 

Working alongside the design and build Main Contractor, who have tasked us with all recruitment for the project, we have an opportunity for an experienced commercial manager / senior quantity surveyor, preferably experienced in Roads and Highways, to join them on a permanent basis, working initially on the Macroom Bypass project in Cork.

 

The initial project will consist of a 22km road upgrade, Type 2 dual carriageway, a number of both grade separated and at-grade interchanges and a large number of bridges.

 
What you’ll need to have:


The successful candidate will have a degree qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.

Key experience of Design Build Contracts is required , along with 7+ years experience working for a main civil engineering contractor, with Roads experience on TII Projects advantageous.

What you’ll be doing:


We are seeking a Commercial Manager to join an expanding Munster based team. You will be required to provide commercial support and manage this prestigious project to ensure that all commercial discipline is maintained throughout the duration of the project.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for informing all project staff on commercial issues.

The successful applicant will be an experienced individual who has risen through the ranks of the industry, starting either as a civil engineer, construction manager or quantity surveyor, with a strong financial focus on their career.

The role includes the following duties:

  • Risk management
  • Management & submission of monthly interim valuations
  • Contractual Management of Project 

  • Financial reporting

  • Budget forecasting
  • Maximising cash flow 

  • Commercial correspondence with client 

  • Report into the Project Director 

  • Sub-Contract and materials procurement management 

  • Management of the supply chain

 

Salary expectations:

An attractive package will be put in place for the successful candidate including Vehicle + Fuel card, which will be fully negotiable depending on relevant Roads / Highways experience.
